This site is really the only place you really see what's going on in this place, even if it gets censored sometimes. Sorry someone had their butt hurt by a post and now there's a cute cartoon... Well at least it attracts attention to SoWal...

Has Herald / Breeze done any real investigative articles? No.

Has NWFL Daily News done any real investigative articles? No.

Seems this site has a lot of good topics to at a minimum "look in to", what would that hurt?

How about the Volunteer at the Animal Shelter? What's the back story there? (there is one...go find it)

I was going to subscribe to that mullet wrapper of a paper, but maybe I won't and it can go the way of the rest of the print media, in the toilet.

As far as last week's Herald cartoon is concerned, the subject matter was based on my own volition.... no one put me 'up to it' or asked me to do it. However, I am always looking for new topics and issues that will make for an interesting (and hopefully somewhat humorous) political cartoon. Giving out the actual identity or identities of any person or persons (fictitious, living or dead) whom I am referring to in this cartoon would be like Carly Simon telling the world who she is talking about in 'He's So Vain" for free. However, I would consider selling to the highest bidder the 'identity' of the mystery person(s) in exchange for a sizeable donation to the South Walton High School music program that is always in need of funding and our community support.
As for aliases.... Jerry Lewis, we all liked you a lot better when you were still with Dean Martin.

I thought you draw cartoons, yet now you act like a pimp? Selling out to the highest bidder... Really? Does the South Walton High School music program want that stigma attached to them? I might pull my support and encourage others to do the same.

Your cartoon is an obvious poke at anyone that takes the time to post something on this site that ruffles the feathers of the County and the BCC. All is based on fact and while not 100% accurate, nor is your local media or newspapers. Facts are a painful part of adult life and some are now starting to realize that and I believe are in full panic mode.

as a political cartoonist I look at this site as source of local information and scuttlebutt. If you were familiar with my cartoons, you'd know I've made a good natured 'poke' at many issues and virtually every elected local politician and county commissioner over the last eight years in Walton County. Many of the politicians depicted found humor in my cartoons and have expressed those thoughts to me. While some local politicians may not like my cartoons, for the most part I've been treated (and I've treated them) with respect and I sincerely feel many are my friends. I am merely a political observer and I refuse to get tugged into a political 'turf war.' As an active member of this community, I purposely avoid making 'mean natured cartoons.' Sometimes it's better to let a bird say it.
You accused me of being a pimp for looking for a donation to a underfunded school music program near and dear to my heart. What does that make Carly Simon? Your words, sir.
The SWHS Band Parent Association is always in need of donations and community support. We are very proud and thankful to the south Walton community's donations, assistance, and support of the South Walton High Music Program over the last few years. Without community support, arts in our public educational system will cease to exist.

Private citizens vs. Public officials.

There is a huge difference and your cartoon is a specific poke at a private citizen who has brought to light many issues that would not see the light of day (or of FSS 119).

Public officials are Fair Game, they know this when they run for office.

Your cartoon is very inaccurate as it depicts "character assassination". Please provide a specific example of said "assassination" and I'll be "steady".
