this thread is great funn! love every word of it.
except I do not believe for one second that Tim Tebow is a douchebag. anyone who knows anything about the young man would know that he is sincerely passionate about his faith and family. and cares a great deal about making a difference in the lives of others as he was taught by his family. forget the football achievements. his real life achievements are yet to come.
Historically Super Bowl ads haven't had an agenda for the most part. I think it should be kept that way. Imagine watching with friends who have different opinions on matters - gay rights, abortion, etc... it is crazy to start any controversy or THINKING during a fun game.

Gidget - you have said it perfectly!
I am allll for gay rights, but the ad wasn't one I would have come up with. Could have been MUCH more clever. And LESS is best. A flirtation would have been cute - not a sex scene on the couch lol. Hetero match making ads don't show heavy make out scenes. I would like to know if CBS would have vetoed an ad such as I am suggesting. That would be cruel if so.

if you ask me the Mancrunch commercial was hilarious! but not sure how Dad would have liked it - its not like you can pretend you didn't see it like you do the erectile dysfunction or other embarrassing commercials. maybe we'll be ready for it in a few more years."
Does anyone really care what Gloria Allred thinks? I mean really. Please, to those this "commercial" offends, rest easy, your little world will not be affected in any way. Your beliefs, lifestyle, or decisions about snacks and dinner will remain unchanged. This "commercial" is not for you. Everything on TV is not necessarily intended for YOU. But maybe, just maybe, someone will get a positive message from it and who knows....?
Desso - where are you from? I like you.
really, any commercial aired by any network is fine with me - I usually stay far away from commercial TV anyway... Tim and Mama do bring viewers a message of hope and that anything is possible. I do not see it as a threat to a woman's right to choose. does not the right to choose include the choice of giving birth to a child? this issue is never black and white. whichever side of the fence you are on, reducing abortion rates through education and awareness is always a very good thing to strive for. I haven't seen the commercial - I wonder why he chose to do something so controversial - maybe this is part of his mission to make a difference by telling his story - I doubt he is trying to take away the rights of anyone. but I could be wrong.
