The Cessna Landing Park Improvements project is located at 1689 County Highway 393 in Santa Rosa Beach and is in the final stages of the design and permit stage. Plans are to add two additional docks, additional pavilions and reconfigure existing driveways and parking areas. Additional work will include hardscape, landscape, site utilities, site grading/drainage and stormwater systems. Work is expected to begin Winter 2023 and be completed by Spring 2024.

Maybe limiting commercial usage would free up parking and rather than doing safety briefings for the rentals while parking in the launch area would have made those launching private boats more convient.

An exclusive commercial area would be nice, but the charter guys pay a special $200 or $250 annual fee to use county boat ramps. Until a couple of years ago there was no fee.

That seems pretty cheap to then get the right to make money on public property..

What is actually needed is an additional much larger boating facility on the bay, but with land costs what it is that would be a long shot. If the county already owns sufficient land on the bay then that would be a different story.

I don't dispute that in the slightest. My issue is with our county government subsidizing private businesses.

Don't forget Pilcher, Grady Brown, Legion... And a couple in Freeport.

Absolutely, I wonder why business interest haven't purchase one and developed it. My issue is more along the line where you back in, then do your safety brief with the renter tying up the ramp so others can't use it. Then the way parking is done. BTW, 200/250 is cheap surprised that business tax was levied as the Commissioners seem to find it difficult to do something similar for other businesses. I suppose that is the reason those companies feel entitled to tie up the ramp the way they do.
