Mango, just so you are aware in case you start your planning, October is no longer off season. Rates have increased for October due to the increase in crowds. And as Alli said, October weather can be still be hot. January and early Febuary are good for crowds as long as you go before Presidents day.

We have been going every year for a couple of weeks for 20+ years so if you need additional info let me know. When I am not here on SoWal and I am somewhere on a Disney forum.

I have written some walking tours of a few of the resorts we have stayed in. I need to finish the others as we have stayed at every Disney resort on property from the values to the Grand Floridian. I just can't seem to get organized to finish the others.

Here is a link if you wish to read the finished ones.

Lightworker, that is what I need to be doing. My friend that has the website with my tours on them, bugs me constantly about finishing the others, she would love to see Minnie at work, as they bring alot of traffic to the site.

Maybe after the New Year I will get inspired and finish the others.

The castle is beautiful. Is it true that they make it snow in Celebration every year?

I have NEVER been to Disney. Have wanted to go in October when the crowds ease, but it seems we always go to sowal. MANgo says that he'll take me, but he's a little afraid they might try to keep me, or that I might hide out in Never Never Land and live out my adult life there.

Maybe they'll build a SoWal world then you can kill two birds with one stone.

They make it snow on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. Have not heard about any over at Celebration.

GraytonGirl, when are you going? If you are going the week of Christmas be prepared for record crowds and plan to get there early and stay. The parks will close early due to maximum crowds and no one else will be admitted.

You will have a wonderful time be sure to get over to see some of the resort decorations. I recommend the Grand Floridian for the life size Gingerbread house, the Wilderness Lodge for the beautiful 4 story tree, and Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach for their unbelieveable chocolate sculptures.

For those not going, here are some beautiful photos of the above.

Wilderness Lodge Tree: Lodge tree

Grand Floridian Gingerbread House: House

Grand Floridian lobby tree: Tree

Beach Club chocolate carousel: Carousel

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to PM me. We have made over 25 trips in that last 22 years of going.

Minnie is...
Minnie is a former teacher. She now takes pride in being a professional Mom of a college student. She volunteers at various places, for various people!
Along with her husband and daughter, she has over 25 trips to Disney under her belt. They have gone every year since 1987. Their first trip was 4 days at an off-site hotel. But now stay on-site every year. They stay for 15 days each trip (lucky them).
They have stayed at the following resorts: Dixie Landings and Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach Resort, All Star Music, Beach and Yacht Club, BoardWalk Inn, Old Key West, Contemporary, Coronado Springs, and Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge.
Their dining experiences vary including all resort's major restaurants, parks, character meals and many off site locations.
They have enjoyed some of the many recreational opportunities, such as Fantasia Golf, Boating, and Horseback riding. Their daughter has experienced Disney child care, and field trip learning programs.
She has many friends that are long time WDW Cast Members. She has assisted many friends in planning a WDW vacation. Minnie's experience and knowledge of Disneyworld is incredible!
We can look forward to a possible continuation of the walking tours through each resort that Minnie has visited. I know I am very excited to read them!

This is the most amazing thing ever!!! Yay, Minnie!!!
