Rapunzel - I forbid you to try a clense. Did you hear me? FORBID!!! Do I need to remind you of the year 1991? The time in our lives when we were easily swayed by all the latest quack diets. And the following 2 years of recovery trying to normalize our digestive systems again????????

FORBID. End of discussion.

Although I did hear of a friends that goes without Alcohol for all of January. That may be a clense that I should try. Right after I polish off that 1/2 empty bottle of wine that is currently sitting in my kitchen! :)

Go talk to Ed & Rachel at For The Health Of It.

ditto.

I may be interested as well! its not about cleansing the colon as much as detoxing the body in general and doing something that will help you start on the road to better health and nutrition (nothing extreme or dangerous). there are detox plans out there that are very healthy, nutritious and sound. some folks like to do detox diets seasonally, and I think its great if this is what makes you feel good. and as long as it makes sense healthwise.

May I suggest Epsom Salt? Directions are on the box/bag. Don't make any plans for the rest of the night, do not have company over and have something to chase it with...like whiskey. The taste is horrible but the result is just what the doctor ordered.

I thought that the castor oil part was interesting--is that why folks used to take castor oil for everything?
