I understand what you all are saying, but if someone drives in a lake because of those signs, well I think they would be doing us a favor, if you know what I mean. Some people call it Darwinism. They really aren't that bad. Sometimes I think we look for something to complain about. They are there to identify the lakes, not everybody has the privilege of living here and would like to know what body of water they are crossing. If any of you would like to donate funds to purchase nicer signs I am sure the county would accept those donations. In the meantime leave the signs up until you come up with a better one.
Sorry if I have offended anyone with this rant. :D

I think it's sort of fun to see a sign identifying a lake when I am out riding my bike.

They definitely are not the most attractive thing I have ever seen (like every sign ever erected on 30-A) but frankly if you drive into a lake because you think they are a road sign it will strengthen our gene pool.

They could always add another sign that said "please do not drive into lake"...

I wasn't looking for anything to complain about but I am concerned about the placement of the signs at the lakes and the lack of guardrails. Scenic Hwy 30A is pretty dark at night we have many visitors that haven't driven on this Hwy some of them disoriented. They may need to turn around and see a street sign up ahead. I have contacted Pubic Works and they are looking into it.
