coastal dune lakes

can someone tell me what is the best way to see the area where western or eastern lake meets the gulf? we would like to see this phenomena when we are there for our vacation but are not sure where to go. thank you.

There is public beach access at the corner of Eastern Lake Drive and South Gulf Drive - Unfortunately you missed the rapids! Eastern lake was close to opening on Sunday morning and got assistance from some teen age girlls around 830 - By noon it was a full blown gusher!

Earlier this morning, Western Lake was about 20ft from the Gulf and someone had a narrow trench last night, attempting to open it, but it had been filled back in to stop the opening, so that the lake can open in its own time. Western Lake opens to the Gulf at Grayton Beach. The recent rains increased the elevation of the lake by a little more than a foot.

Big Redfish Lake in Blue Mt Beach is probably still running from all the rain we got last weekend.

Little Redfish opened on Sunday and still may be trickling.

You can park at the 83 walkover and head east.

Camp Creek blew through a couple of days ago. Very cool.

Western Lake is now flowing out, blowing toward Seaside.
