Smilin' Joe...we'll have the Chopin in the freezer for you in October and make you the world's best mar-tooni. We grew olives on our CA property, those great big Mission Queens, which we have preserved with fresh garlic. They are wonderful in martinis, almost an appetizer. No need for a "dirty" cocktail with these babies.

Although I usually don't like anything touching my vodka, I may have to try one of your olives. Yum!

mmmmm- coffee hour is almost over and we are moving towards cocktail hour!

Crap! I knew that I forgot something today. Now I am in a real bad situation. Do I drink some coffee and stay up late, or do I skip the coffee and stay awake with a massive caffeine headache that will soon be arriving? Crap!

In rereading the title of this thread...it asks the question, SJ...who was trying to POISON you last night???? Or was it self inflicted? Any better yet? What did you eat today?

although at present I have a Woodchuck, & plan to follow with Indigo Hills Cab Sav, it goes better with red meat, which we rarely partake of

I made a big smoothie for lunch -- peach lowfat yogurt, cranberry juice cocktail, fresh banana, frozen peaches, frozen blueberries and frozen strawberries.
For dinner, I am craving a pizza from Capo's (no longer in business).

Sounds like a $20 smoothie

My smoothies are big enough and tasty enough that I bet I could sell them all day long for $5. Twenty bucks would be a stretch, unless I used some Rum in place of a little juice. I have not tried that, but I know it would work.

Okay, so one night we went to Cafe 30-A for dinner. We had indulged in our usual sunset beverages. I'm a scotch and wine drinker, but I decided to try a "Down and Dirty" martini at 30-A. We ordered a bottle of red wine with dinner. Before the main course came, I totally zoned out - my husband noticed my eyeballs falling off the side of my head. LOL. I did my best to be civilized during dinner. When we got ready to leave, I said to him, "I don't think I can walk out of here. Please hold me up and help me walk in a straight line so that I don't embarrass myself." He did so, and then when we got home, he led me up the stairs to the bedroom, explaining to my daughter and her boyfriend that "Mommy's tired." Well, I had on some really tight black leather pants and boots that I couldn't remove. My husband had to help me put on my pj's. I think from now on, I'll stick to scotch and wine. :rotfl:

Harriett, your restaurant *does* make an awesome martini, as well as excellent food.
