Right here!
You have got to be kidding. I think you have hit a new low. This forum is not the place for this. Sell this to your friends in a back alley.

Why?

I'm not a fan of Dawkins' crusade against religious belief, but the point can be made that religion mixes with our politics far too often. Particularly in areas of abortion policy and acceptance of uncommon religious beliefs like Islam.

I can understand. I don't think there should even be a word for non-believers, and that should it should be the default state. It's also bothersome that in today's world anyone would have to declare themselves a rationalist. It should be the rare irrational ones who declare their denouncement of reason. This is just how I think it "should be". Still, 15% is a lot. That rivals the size of any single demonination I would wager.

I asked an atheist friend of mine once if he was a non-believer, then why does he even care what others do or think? He said he he would love to leave everybody's beliefs to themselves but he drew the line when their beliefs encroached into his life and his country's laws.

To sum up his point he said "the church enjoys the separation of church and state, but the state doesn't. Drive both ways on a one way street and eventually you'll run into trouble."

Historically and metaphorically speaking, after science was let out of the church's dungeon it came back with a vengeance. I guess we could infer that after the church has run our government down to wedge issues and talking points, we shouldn't be surprised when that "equal and opposite reaction" occurs.

Why is this forum not a place for this? It's a current event. Please explain your position further.

A lot of atheists feel like mice trapped in a theocratic maze. Something like this may be just the cheese they need.
