Commander's Palace in Destin Closes For Good

Well IMO it should have never came. I love MANY of the Brennans restaurants as I am in New Orleans often, but Destin just inst the place for it.
I had been a couple of times to the Destin location and never was impressed. With the service, of which I have grown accustomed to from New Orleans, or the food.
There are too many other wonderful upscale restaurants on 30-A and of course in Destin of which I'd rather visit.
Im sad to see them go but it is what it is.

The next logical step is to open a Popeye's fried chicken joint in the old Commander's space. That is the flavor (and price point) of New Orleans we need here now and forever!

If you really feel the urge, there's a Popeye's in FWB on Eglin Parkway not too far north of downtown.
