Over half of the uninsured in this country are employed. Over one third of the states in this country will only have one insurer choice in their exchange for 2017. Only 40 percent of available uninsured have signed up.
Who's grand idea was this? Who's legislation is viewed as the most important act of his presidency?

By design.

From what I've read from people who signed up for the "Affordable Care Act" it's anything but. Many say their premiums are way higher than the penalty which in itself is ridiculous to charge. If a family/individual can't afford the premiums they can't afford the penalty either. But IRS has that taken care of by taking it automatically from their tax refund. Was hoping they would get rid of that. I still have insurance through my husband's employer but will have to either get another job with insurance or get the ridiculous insurance above which through Blue Cross Tennessee showed a estimate of around $400 a month for me. Not paying that.

Wow, 400 a month that is a steal depending on insurance you purchase. I looked at it for my wife and I and decent plan was going to cost us 1200 a month and thought that was excellent. Based on current plan and cost it was comparable.

But I'm not employed. It's half of that through my husbands employer for both of us through their group insurance. But he will be retiring in early February. So I have to do something. He will be living on social security then.

If it had been the original plan things would be much better, but the insurance company's got involved and they are the ones really making the money off of this. Either out of your pocket or out of your tax dollars (when subsidies apply).

Single payer is the way to go.
