Golf carts should be banned forever! They are a menace...this is not a golf cart community. 30A is a county road..not a Golf path
I agree. It makes absolutely no sense and never will. The reason they were approved as posted here many times is that there are county commission family members who are in the rental business.

Actually, the street legal carts are legal anywhere in Florida as long as a few prerequisites are met (lowering the speed limit from 45mph means they are now legal to operate from one end of 30-A to the other). Whether or not the BCC could ban them on 30-A, I’m not sure. But correct, too many good old boys making too much easy money renting the things out to expect any sort of change. I’ve learned to accept them but that does not mean that they do t make my blood boil from time to time. Not to drag this covid 19 thread into another endless debate about the things, I just think that short term renting them now means you are encouraging tourists, who we don’t need here at the moment, to pack themselves into a tiny space and risk spreading virus amongst themselves, folks they encounter here and people they will encounter when they go back to Atlanta//Tennessee/Texas.

They are supposed to be able to go 25mph to be legal. Lowering the speed limits to 35 is supposed to allow them everywhere. In reality most of them are maxed at 15mph and less with a full load on board. The whole what is legal and what is not argument is ridiculous. 30A is a real road, not a country club lane with people driving their carts to the nearest tee box or pool.

There is not a good argument as to why they should have ever been approved or continue to be allowed except money in certain people's pockets. Laws and the government are supposed to be for the community, not skewed to certain businesses.

Hope everyone gets out and enjoys the beautiful sunshine today. Walking, fishing, and walking are on the agenda for me. Oh, and going by Publix too.
