I think he downplayed it so he and his cronies could dump vulnerable stocks, and to try to keep the economy afloat to help him attempt to get re-elected. He didn’t quite grasp that independents might favor life over profits, so he lost the election. Let me repeat, HE LOST THE ELECTION, probably because he lied about the virus, and 500,000 people died before Election Day. Bad calculation as a human being, and a politician.

He's a bad human being and a bad politician, so I'm not surprised. Everything he thought made him look good backfired. The icing on the cake was when he caught the virus, and anyone could have guessed he brought it with him to the first debate.

I think I’m in heaven and I don’t believe it exists.
I’m on the Norwegian Dawn. Everyone is vaccinated, tested, and wearing masks in the passageways. No whining and arguing about their constitutional rights. This is how America should be.
There is a small chance Covid is here, but at least I know we all did our part to be infection free.

I'm wondering if maybe deep down some of these people are pissed because they realize that getting vaccinated is really the way to go, and that their fearless leader hasn't been actively encouraging it until now. Trump was very clear and unambiguous about this, to the point where I could be fooled into thinking he is sane and rational.

It won't make any difference to Trumpers and Trumpalikes. They live in a parallel universe and I mean this literally. They do not see the most very obvious and to defend themselves - if they possibly can - they result to illogical bullshit that fits their reality. They see no wrong.

The better question is not how they moved their reality to what we would call absolute, unfettered bullshit - buy why?
