Comparing this to HIV is gross and inaccurate. HIV is spread in very specific ways. Ask your "friend" who is 24+ years positive what "alternative" or "it might work" things he tried. He'll likely tell you he waited for something with science behind it,A although most likely you'll just say that your friend used some secret cure. Also to conflate that HIV treatments are so gay people can "do their thing" is rude, offensive and once again inaccurate. I get where you're going with that comment, but it also implies that it only affects the gay community. Go dog whistle somewhere else.

He did not take some secret herbs. He has been under allopathic medical care the whole time, with of course, a healthy diet. But nice of you to assume that which you do not know. But thank you for giving us a demonstration of your lack of mind reading skill, general preaching.

Why do you denounce a proven treatment? If you personally contracted “Covid19” and were in the hospital, on the way down, would you not at least try this? Or do you want to “wait for the vaccine”?

After 30 years of research on HIV there is still no vaccine. But there are treatments that will allow a patient to live a mostly normal life, correct? Besides, the whole impetus for an HIV vaccine is so the homosexuals can do their thing without a condom. This is coming from a friend who is very much involved in the HIV situation; he’s been HIV+ for 24 years.
On Fox News Thursday, Laura Ingraham tried to make a false comparison between the coronavirus pandemic and AIDS — and Dr. Anthony Fauci promptly corrected her.

“We don’t have a vaccine for SARS, I mean, they got close in mice,” said Ingraham. “We don’t have a vaccine for HIV. And life did go on, right? So the idea that we’re definitely going to have a vaccine — we didn’t really approach much else in the same way, as we’re pegging going back to normal with a vaccine, did we?”

“Well, no, but Laura, this is different,” said Fauci, a key voice on President Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force. “HIV/AIDS is entirely different. We don’t have a vaccine for HIV/AIDS, but we have spectacularly effective treatment. People who invariably would have died years ago, right now are leading essentially normal lives.”

“SARS is a different story,” he added. “SARS disappeared. We developed a vaccine, we were in the process of going through the various phases, we showed it was safe, we showed it induced a good response. And then SARS disappeared. And we didn’t need to develop a vaccine for SARS. So I think it’s a little bit misleading, maybe, to compare what we’re going through now with HIV or SARS.”

US lacks sufficient testing capabilities needed to reopen, medical association warns

From CNN's Amanda Watts

The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) says the US needs to ramp up effective and proactive testing before the country can reopen.

Dr. John Lynch, IDSA board member and associate medical director at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, said the US needs broad and easy access to testing.

“We need to find a way to have testing accessible in a public health forum — an approach where it's widely, easily accessible, it is agnostic to your insurance status, and it is ahead — it is aggressive, it is out in front, where there are potentially no cases," Lynch said. "We have to recognize this virus is not going anywhere. There is a distinct risk that we will just bump straight back up and we'll see a brisk increase in the number of infections. As we relax these, we have to be able to respond to that."

Lynch said, “Social distancing is very, very effective. It has been amazing.” He called it a “lifesaving tool.”

All eight states with Republican governors and no stay at home order saw an increase in cases. North Dakota and Utah saw moderate increases while the other experienced significant increases.

Oklahoma saw a 53% increase in cases over the past week, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. Over same time, cases jumped 60% in Arkansas, 74% in Nebraska, and 82% in Iowa. South Dakota saw a whopping 205% spike.

All of those numbers may very well undercount the total cases, given a persistent lack of testing across the US.

I think he might need to clarify this comment considering that this virus IS in fact SARS-CoV-2. The name of the disease caused by it is COVID-19.
