Lost a friend of over twenty years last week. Frankie was an older (than me) woman but in good health. She refused the vaccine, contracted Covid 19 and was hospitalized. She was given the monoclonal antibody treatment and rallied, really rallied, it seemed. She died 10 days later. Nothing is foolproof including vaccines and treatments. Still kind of startled that some are willing to gamble they won't get this deadly virus and gamble again that they won't be like Frankie and die anyway.

Stupid poorly informed choices by the Antivas will always leave family and friends to deal with the pain.
Were any of us prepared for this level of resistance to a life saving vaccine? I know I wasn’t.
Never underestimate the damage one selfish conman can do.

My understanding is that both CDC and FEMA are bracing for a resurgence during cold weather due to variants.

Wonder how long the virus(s) will be with us? March 8, 2020 was the last basketball game we went to. Will always remember that week. Double header. We did drive to Ashville for the Downton Abbey exhibit but stayed away from people and turned away if we were close. Remember when we didn't have masks? Towels and rubber bands. That Friday, March 13th was our last meal in a restaurant. Everything shut down. (And Breonna Taylor was killed.) My older family members lived through the Depression for quite a few years then WW2. Is this the new normal for us? All they had to do was wear masks and get a shot. And the wonderment of it that 45 was 'in charge' when it happened. If there is a god, he/she might have put him here at that time to show how far we were falling. Ellen
