It seems that in my day to day life when I hear someone say “I know x number of people who got the vaccine and were hospitalized, and I know a person who was vaccinated and died” it’s always out of the mouth of an unvaccinated person who plans to remain unvaccinated.

Question- Does anyone here who has been vaccinated know someone personally who was vaccinated and then hospitalized or died from COVID?

by sheer quantity of people I accept that there are some, but it’s a common refrain it seems from certain folks. I know a number of people and I know no one vaccinated and hospitalized. I wonder how several acquaintances of mine could know multiple.

Yep, I hear the same thing from those that choose not to get the vaccine. To answer your question I do NOT! I read and my wife reads a lot of material on the virus and the vaccine and there is NO evidence that we as a species of humans are better off not getting the vaccine...

Unfortunately I know two people (acquaintances) who were vaccinated, hospitalized and died. Both had serious heart conditions. One was young and didn't seek medical care until it was too late. One was in his 90s and had pneumonia and other complications. It is considered rare but it happens in certain cases usually when serious health problems already exist.
