I'm having a difficult time understanding what GDP has to do with my happiness? Would I forfeit a few more points on my tax bill for universal health care and college for everybody, I think the answer is Duh! Right now, I'm paying about 50 cents per dollar on weapons and weapon systems, for US AND THEM, and the constant wars; and then have to spend another 50 percent of my after taxes pennies on health care products, totally based on PROFIT! Oh, it feels so good to rant against stagnant Republicans. Fun.

If that is what makes you happy, more power to you pal. There is a very simple equation, and in spite of it's simplicity, most liberals are incapable of understanding. There is only so much capital (if you are a liberal arts major, think "money") to go around. The more capital that gets sucked out of the private sector by the public sector, the worse off we all are. The average GDP of Denmark over the last two decades is appx 1.5%, which pretty much sucks. The GDP is the starting point for producing capital, the lower the GDP, the less money coming into the public sectors for all the freebies. Get it? The personal income tax rate in Denmark is 55.6%. There comes a point when people say to themselves, why should I bust my butt when most of the fruits of my labor go to provide for those who either cannot or will not support themselves. It is called human nature. And lastly, let's eliminate PROFIT from all those companies selling health care products. In 5 minutes there would be no health care products. And oh, your numbers are way off, but hey, you're a Democrat!

As Maggie Thatcher so succinctly put it: The only problem with Socialism is you eventually run out of other people's money.

"Socialism hasn't worked anywhere in the world" are your exact words, and virtual all the countries, on Forbe's top ten most happy countries in the world, are socialist countries. Is the worth of a country measured in GDP or the happiness of it's citizens?

If being happy makes you happy, that's your business. Don't try to impose that on others. Some prefer impotent white rage.

There is only so much capital in the world so suck up as much as you can and offshore it. Remember, it's all about you. Go 'Murica!

Government needs to shrink, not grow. We have an overabundance of laws, taxes, and the vermin that work that trade. Term limits, a lobbyist ban, and a balanced budget amendment would be a good start. And everyone should brush for at least 2 minutes.

Capitalism has given the U.S. the highest standard of living, the best healthcare (there is a reason why people around the world go to Mayo, MD Anderson, etc), and the greatest OPPORTUNITY for it's citizens to achieve their highest goals, regardless of social standing or background, witness Dr. Ben Carson. Once again, the more that the public sector sucks out of the private sector, the worse the private sector does and the less liberty is enjoyed by it's citizens. All of the Scandinavian countries have very high personal income tax rates. Personally, I don't need, nor want, some bureaucrat telling me what to do, I prefer to be free to make my own choices. I do not need to be coddled by a big government that thinks it knows what is best for me. It is particularly galling to watch and listen to Sanders, who has never worked a day in the private sector, who hasn't the slightest clue what it is like to have to operate in the black so you can meet a payroll every week. He has always been paid by Daddy Warbucks (the U.S. government) which never has to act responsibly, or under the same rules it requires of it's citizens. The economy has been crappy enough under the community agitator, with the labor force participation rate being at a 45 year low, worst recovery since Great Depression, and average income down appx. 6%. So doubling down on the same shortsighted policies is going to turn things around?

Barney Bernie went to the Soviet Union on his honeymoon (and apparently never returned), that SHOULD tell people something.

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, can also take away everything you own". Thomas Jefferson, a noted right-winger! haha
