True dat, but he's also talking about ideas. Trump is the latest boogeyman, but he really has little effect on your daily routine.Ya mean like Donald Trump who managed to insult nearly everybody in both parties? All he really does is talk about people and what losers they are. How do I walk away from him, Bob?
I'd rather, in this thread share quotes from folks who provoke thought. I started it 3 years ago in the hopes that we could share. It's not, in my opinion, a thread to be trashed by discussions of Trump. You guys have your own un-moderated sandbox here that's turned into an echo chamber. Please explain some of his grand ideas. All I have heard sounded like slogans and conspiracy theory. Just viewing his cabinet picks kind of makes me think the rich will get vastly richer and the environment will get wasted. Privatization of social security and Medicare is a grand idea? For whom?Exxon securing all those billion dollars deals in Russia is a grand idea? For whom?
Without discussion a quote can resemble the "argument from authority" which is used as a debate tactic. Just shut up and agree. After all, it came from a prominent scholar.I've always enjoyed your quotes through the years, but I've always been at a loss as to how to respond. Should I just say, "Wow, Bob, that is profound!" or should I respond with my own thoughts on the theme of the quotation. I had thought the quotes were meant to stir thought and discussion rather than to be a short bleak leak of somebody else's mind. I wasn't trying to be all that sarcastic. I was attempting to find a real world application for the wisdom. I find wisdom without useful application to be an exercise in trite profundity.
I'm contributing what I want to contribute. If you can show me your copyright for this thread we might come to some type of cease and desist agreement.you are not contributing anything with the one dimensional trump posts. Put this garbage anywhere in the forum but here. You three managed that for the longest time, but you have become rather unhinged since the election.
