Dell, I couldn't believe it

So Monday morning at 10:00 am I ordered a new monitor online for Jes for Christmas hoping it would get here in time. Tuesday morning at 9:00 am I get a call from UPS that they are at my house trying to leave a delivery. I had also ordered a new computer desk last week, so I figured that was it. I told the guy just to leave the box outside my gate. He said he couldn't, he had to have a signature. I said for a desk? He said no, it was a package from Dell? I said are you kidding me, I just ordered it yesterday. He said "are you serious"? I said yes. Anyway, I called my neighbor who is a life savior and asked her to please go and sign for it. She did and all was well. But, my question is: How is this freaking possible? Less than 24 hours after the order was placed it was at my house? I have ordered Dell computers in the past and they have always been delivered within 3 days. But less than 24 hours???? I was amazed.

Just thought I would share. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannekuh, Happy Kwanza, and all the other Holiday's for everyone I might have left out. ;-)

Depends on where they ship from. The last laptop I ordered from them came from a Duluth, GA warehouse which is only 30 miles from my house...

Could be good marketing, tell you it's 3 days and then ship it over night.

That's true, too. One thing that helps is buying off the shelf packages that they don't have to custom build. They can have them stocked in multiple places and pull right from the shelves...

Or...you could just go to Wal-Mart and buy one from them, now!

After sending Dell an email through their support site about some memory problems on a computer under warrenty, Dell called me back in less than an hour to diagnose the problem. A couple days later they sent a tech from Pensacola to my house in Destin to test the computer and replace the memory, free of any charges. I've been a commited Dell customer ever since.

Being a monitor it would not be a custom order and more than likely it came out the Lebanon, TN facility just outside of Nashville, hence the next day delivery.

I have gotten very quick service from them to Memphis. Hope he enjoys his new monitor and has a great Christmas.

I ordered something from Staples.com a few months ago and it was delivered that afternoon! It was a desk floor mat that was carried only online. But it HAD to have come from the store that's located only about a 1/2 mile from my house. There's just no other explanation. But I still can't get over it. Must have been a slow day at Staples!
