This is totally unfair--they (the minority radio stations, like any other radio station) need to have a better internal plan. With advertising revues dropping as they are everywhere, I am sure there are other ways to make internal cuts and preserve viability, until the recession ends.

Maybe we should have bailed out the turpentine companies or ice box companies in the past. Maybe the stage coast industry or those replaced by the cell phone. Silly stuff.

But haven't you noticed something already. And I don't want hate mail. But haven't you noticed something along 30A that I didn't see last year, virtually at all. Maybe it's a result of how money has already been divvied up in ways most of us don't have a clue about. I know banks were issued 'letters' prompting them to lend to certain people. Maybe that's why I've seen a difference here this year and why there may be calls for bailouts in the future from those same people and their spending habits. Sorry, but it's been an observation.

Oh my, if I'm reading what I think I'm reading I am sickened.

But, back to the original WR tap on the glass that started all this...three congressional Democrats writing a letter to the Treasury making a request to make borrowing easier (borrowing, not a handout) does not mean your average Democrat supports a bailout.

I'd rather not spell it out. If you haven't noticed, you haven't noticed. But I recently went back to visit New Orleans and on a black talk radio show they were using the term 'crackers' and saying things like 'we don't care about you white people' and 'like Nagin said, this is a chocolate city and it always will be'. They talked about how this was 'our time now.' Might have been 1260 am, around there.

Anyway, I liked when I moved here along 30A that kind of thing was a distant memory. I have worked in fields where I saw a lot of things and learned a lot about how government money was dolled out. It makes me suspicious about how some of the stimulus money has been given out and I'm seeing things that make me believe it further. I've talked to others who agree and have noticed the same thing.

Again, I'm sorry to write it in general terms and yes, I don't check back on these political discussions too much. I find people speak and believe in ways that they truly don't deeply believe. Political thought is generally regurgitated thought. People say things that they don't really believe deep inside. They repeat the 'talking points'.

Regarding the banks issuing money. Tell you what, you go lend money to the people the bank won't. Why should banks have to lend money to people they don't feel they should? If it is not feasible to do so, why should any entity be expected to do so. Can anyone make sense of why they should? Any sense at all. Just think of it like it is your money. In fact, I suggest doing so. Go and seek out those that cannot get loans but who you feel deserve loans, and you and your friends pool your money and lend. Not a handout. Expect interest. Do it to make money. Like a business. Like a bank is suppose to be.

I'd like to see someone who suggests banks need to lend money put their money where their mouth is. I'll bet they won't. This is an example of how people preech ceratin ways but if you frame a real world example to them they do not really feel that way.

Btw, borrowing is a handout when it's not paid back. You laon them the money. In fact, those that believe in big government should get together as a party and finance it themselves. But leave me out of it. And you can take all the profits.

The original post was about minority tv broadcasters wanting stimulus money. Okay, those that believe the banks should lend to them, again, you and your friends pool your money and sign some contracts. Let me know how it works out for you.:dunno:

Nope, haven't noticed anything. What are you talking about?
