The light shimmering on the gulf looks much nicer with the addition of an oily film. Besides if we can't drive here, what good is it? Then the Texan's will stay at Galveston Beach.

Just a point of clarity on this subject. The Destin Dome holds 2.6 Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF) of Natural gas. The United States uses 22 Trillion Cubic feet per of Natural Gas annually.

If you are willing to trade our coastline here for less than a months worth of gas for the country, then I think priorities are mislead. This is a political issue because no one has the facts.

for more information - http://www.ngsa.org/docs/pressrelease/2002/DestinDomeAnnouncement5_29_02.pdf

Please dont allow the goverment to sell drilling leases to oil companies. If you've ever been to Ft Morgan Alabama (Just next to Gulf Shores) you'll see the horrible result of natural gas drilling on the coast. Large flames, hideous wells with lights and fire 24 hours a day. and all for less than a months worth of natural gas.

Dont kid yourself either thinking that such a small amount of resources will benefit the individuals in this state. its a political card, dont be fooled.

My Best,
