I also thought it was across the city line. In Miramar Beach technically walton county.

I did another search, found this address -2237 Scenic Gulf Dr, Miramar Beach, so I am not sure, we always thought of it as Destin, doesnt matter too much, it is still a good place to eat and cant be too far from Destin.

It is on the Walton County side but a lot of Miramar Beach places still use Destin as a zip code- it's east of condo de parents, and they're Walton too. My big complaint with them is that they never fried their fries hot enough the last couple of times we tried there, leading to higher oil absorbtion on the potato's part and upset stomachs on our part. So they're on our no-go list even though I do really like their tuna melts.

My favorite place for dinner!!

Baby J's is closed, the Boathouse is great for a casual meal. The first two places are fairly new so let us know how they are if you try them.

Have you tried the tripadvisor site there is a pretty active Destin group there.

Yes - that's where I found these! But I wanted opinions from this board, which contains more locals. Thanks to all who have responded so far, and keep those cards and letters coming!

missredfox, you are right about the Boathouse. Some good friends of ours love the place, but it scares us. We went a few times with them but never went back. It gets rough there at night. We've actually seen a couple having sex on the outdoor deck.

We never eat in Destin anymore. Too many good places on 30A. We've heard that P. F. Chang's is good, but why eat at a chain restaurant at the beach when there's one in Atlanta?

BTW if you go to P. F. Chang's, don't order the double pan-fried noodles with pork. David Zinczenko, author of Eat This, Not That, was on The Today Show this week talking about the 5 saltiest restaurant foods in America ( http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/35019691/ns/today-today_health/?pg=2#TDY_SaltiestFoods_100125 with a link to the video). He said that one should eat at most 2400 mg of sodium a day, but that 1500 mg would be a reasonable amount. This pork dish has 7900 mg of sodium! He says, "China should stop fighting with Google and go after P. F. Chang's for giving Chinese food a bad name."

I'm actually okay with PF Chang's because it can be hard to find good Chinese food in the area. Outside of Lin's and Dynasty, it skews heavily in these parts toward the overly sauced in HFCS and gloppy buffet fare.
