Did Ameritrade buyout someone else?

The number you listed is the number referenced in the letter. Got a rep in Ontario and she needed my SS to look up the account. I didn't give it to her, explaining that I've never set up an account with TD Ameritrade....they have bought out a bunch of companies, but not the ones I have accounts with...... and, she couldn't find me by name, address, etc.

Funny thing: she totally berated America for using SS #'s! Basically called us stupid!

She assured me they were legit and is having a supervisor contact me. Strange!

Supervisor did call me from 519 area code. He said the same thing the phone rep said.

He couldn't find me either in their system. I asked if they had pulled credit bureaus to solicit new business and they have not.
