This is a strange one but I make no apologies! Today I had cauliflower with ranch dressing and a glass of milk for lunch. All white. And I thought that wasn't nutritionally sound because you're supposed to have colors on your plate. I should have thrown in some leafy green veg or a nice orange.

But if you had to eat only one color for one day what would you eat? Pick your favorite color and chow down!! (I can think of better white drinks than milk :D.)

..My Mother often would comment on the lack of color in a meal she served. She would apologize to us for the presentation. We never cared 'cause we were eating mom's good home cooking! Ha!

But, I do find myself when I realize I'm serving a meal of all yellow and browns, reaching for the colorful blue plates!...:rotfl:

I'd choose all green - lots of shades.

I choose red - many options - meats, pasta sauces, strawberries, raspberries, jello, apples, red wine, shrimp etc.

My family is all about "color" in food. A culinary standby is pimentos added to green beans, and pomegranate seeds, mango, or carrots to salads.

And then the food coloring comes out for holidays....................AND THE MILK TURNS THE COLOR OF PEPTO!

Oooh, I actually saw a green egg for the first time in my life just a couple of months ago......N A S T Y!

I eat by color diversity every day......always have! Makes it more funn to plan, cook and eat!

Daughter and I always plan our meals based on color. We always want some red and some green, along with the white/tan/brown. Yellow is okay, but that verges on white/tan/brown

That's the reason we resigned from our country club. Except for the salad, all of the food on the Sunday buffet was white/tan/brown/yellow. Very visually unappealing. I tried to explain to them the psychology of color and food, but they didn't get it. So we said bye-bye.

EDIT: My color would be red (tomatoes), closely followed by green (basil), and then white/yellow (pasta and cheese).

I'm with scooty--for all the reasons she said. Red. Followed by white.

I often look at the plates we turn out at the NH. Sometimes, they are all the same color. It's so unappealing. We don't make the menus locally, they come from Maryland. Sometimes there's just weird crap on the menu--like they make this one dish with--I kid you not-cabbage and noodles.

My sister in law never met a brown food she wouldn't eat. Fried is the rule of the day!

Yeah...she wound up with gallstones...
