Back to the dentist...I had picked one tooth that was in need of help to have filled, while waiting to heal enough for the crown prep that I've already paid for. I find out the filling will be $145. My insurance is maxed out for the year, so it is my responsibility. My appointment was today.
On the way out, I ask if the other immediately-necessary filling can wait until January, when I will have coverage again. She would prefer it didn't wait. I make plans to schedule it and the crown prep.
I am standing there with my debit card in my hand, patting myself on the back for being prepared to pay in full, even near the end of the month. That is a rare occurrence with me. And the receptionist smiles at me and says..."That will be $370!"

Seems while I was numb, she filled the tooth I came to have filled, and the one next to it. Actually, it was a related situation so it makes sense, but holy sheet! Warn me next time!
Back goes the debit card, out comes the Visa...
