Do Real Men Wear Pink?

Here's the deal. Merman and I bought kayaks last night. His is yellow. Mine is red. We got matching Personal Flotation Devices (they don't call 'em life vests anymore ;-) ) with color-coordinated trim. Mine is red. We got them on sale.

We also got paddles. Also on sale. Actually, on clearance. What landed them on the clearance rack in the height of the kayaking season? Wellll....they're pink. Pink with little white cloudy swirls. I think they're very elegant. Merman has another opinion. He balked at buying them but one can't overlook a $50 savings per paddle. (Money talks.)

So the question is, does Merman spray paint his paddles? Or do real men wear pink?

oddly enough i just turned on court tv and one of the guest lawyers has on a gorgeous pink shirt, it is very elegant. tell merman not to worry - real men do use pink paddles esp for that kind of savings ! paddle them proudly merman !

Hell no, I wouldn't be caught dead in pink. Unless of course I was the subject of a Christo art project..............

My husband would not be caught alive with anything pink. He's not even crazy about red. All his clothes have to be blue, black, green, white or brown or khaki color.

The only men I have ever seen wear pink are the "metrosexuals". In case you don't know who they are, they are men who are straight, but get manicures, use face creams etc. My husband calls them girlie-men.

oh yes they do! My son and Mr. JR wear pink dress shirts a lot.

Mr. Johnrudy probably could care less what others thought if he used pink paddles. I'll admit, it would take a lot of confidence tho. (The cloudy swirls might be too much for him tho!)

mr audie is the same way, he would die before he would wear pink. a pink shirt is different to me than pink britches or shoes. i guess maybe i don't pay close enough attention to the pink issue.
