:rotfl: I literally sleep with a dog, in particular, a standard poodle, as well as with my sweet husband.

The topic of this thread relates to a funny story. When I was at the beach two weeks ago, I noticed a tiny deer tick on me. Because it was embedded, I went to a clinic in SoWal to get a prescription for Minocycline. The physician's assistant asked what was wrong. When I started out by saying, "I sleep with a dog," we both started laughing. I told him I wasn't referring to my husband and that I literally sleep with a dog; he said, "That's okay. I've slept with a few dogs myself." The jokes kept rolling, such as when I said, "It's been ten years since I've slept with a dog because the last one slept in the dog house outside.":funn:

Seriously, the dog groomer said that ticks are really bad this year, even for dogs on Frontline. So if you sleep with a dog, check yourself frequently for ticks.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you sleep with a dog?:D

I do. And I do check myself regularly.

2 dogs start out on the bed. The first dog moves to the chair after a few minutes. The other dog moves under the bed, under me. The first dog wakes Bdarg up every morning for food, eats it, then gets back in bed with me and goes back to sleep. The second dog goes to her kennel, looks at her food, goes back to sleep there, and eats breakfast much later.

I try to stay fairly sober at the bars, so that doesn't happen. Oh, you mean the K9 variety? Only when camping, otherwise, they stay out of my bedroom.

:funn: I'm surprised I figured you would have a bed full of them. Dogs that is...the fury kind. ;-)

Only during a thunderstorm. When my son FINALLY outgrew the fear of thunder and quit getting in bed with us, then Eddie (the dog) starting taking his place.

Do they fight? When I slept with two dogs (again, the furry kind as in two miniature poodles), they both liked to sleep under the covers (one at our feet, the other with her head on the pillow and tucked in like a little princess. They were very jealous of each other, and when we would accidentally touch one of them, that dog would think it was the other dog invading her space. So we'd hear one growl, then the other would growl, and it would escalate into a big ball of poodles fighting under the covers. I have scars on my arms from separating them (they'd bite thinking that it was the other dog, not me).

Miniature poodles can get scrappy too. My little John (semi-miniature poodle) was very possessive of his spot on the bed. He would growl until Rudy slinked off and sulked to another room. Now HE has taken John's spot. He's a big, snuggly baby.
