Can't remember the last time I wrote a check. Hubby hasn't moved into the tech world yet and refuses to use the debit card; so, he writes check still UGH!!!!!!!

The only people I know that use checks are the ones in Publix when you have your fresh hot chicken and heading home from a hard days work and they wait till after the cashier is done and the cart is loaded before they get there check and pen out......

I pay my rent and my daughters school lunches and aftercare with checks. Otherwise, my other 15 or so bills are all online now! lol I manage a retail store as well and I get maybe one check a month from a customer out of 3400+ transactions. I am very happy to see them for all practical purposes dead. ;)

I pay all bills with checks... had a huge mess a few years ago with overdraft & duplicate payments taken out of the account and a brush with someone attempting identity theft. With checks I feel like I have more control. It will be quite some time before I go online to pay bills again.

I write checks at Publix, easier to keep track because I actually write it in my register.. With the cost of groceries now a $200 payout is important to keep up with. Slow down a little folks, take a deep breath and enjoy the ride.

Grrrrrrrrrrr! I HATE checks! It's so Fred Flintstone! Every time I see somebody breaking out a checkbook ahead of me at the grocery I wanna scream, "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAABADDABBA DOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Last month I checked out Crust Pizzeria in Destin and they'd just opened and the owners (really great people) were still getting things set up so hadn't hooked up the credit card machine, so they offered us to just drop the money back by later in the week or write a check. We were fumbling around trying to find the checkbook and trying to remember where we left the ink pen and, well, "How're ya supposed to fill one o' these things out again?"

Then again, I'm starting to despise constantly using a debit card, too, cuz I notice a spike in 'phishing spam' trying to convince me that there's some problem with my account so I should call some fake number that tries to scam me for my info. I suspect one or more minimum-waged hairy-knuckled mouthbreathers behind the registers may be responsible for that.

I'm leaning toward moving money to Walmart Money Card(s) and such, plus start rolling around with cash in ye ole wallet. Identity thieves are all over and I can manage a non-identity-risking money card and I don't think I'm gonna get mugged in Grayton Beach. Then again, some of you are looking pretty shifty.

I operate my business almost entirely on checks. I enjoy paying my bills with checks and balancing the check book. I stay in complete control with this simple but old fashioned method. I never use a debit card because it is too difficult to keep track of. I only use a credit card when I have to like at the gas pump. My grandmother taught me the "art" of writing checks as a form of positive social interaction about 40 years ago and it still works today as many of my customers write "Thank you!" or ":)" or "Great service!" Long live the checkbook.
