I vote for the best candidate, regardless of party affiliation. Operative word here is 'best' and that is 'weak' at best this year. No pun intended.

I completely agree. It's hard to feel invested in an election when you have to hold your nose while you're voting for the lesser of the two evils. Are Deal and Barnes really the best the parties can bring to the table?

I still think I have the worst choice- Jim DeMint and Alvin Greene for SC Senate. Georgia is a mess though. No, I won't be voting a straight ticket and I will have a write-in too!!

Unfortunately parties don't run the best candidate. They run the candidate that has done the most ass kissing in the party with the least amount of potential scandal.

This describes every election I've voted in for the past 25 years and I've never missed voting in a Federal or State Election since I turned 18 (which was a very, very long time ago.)

I have in the past voted straight ticket, but then I became enlightened and have voted across party lines. I still am deciding a couple of races and the Amendments.
