Dog Days of Summer

I had dinner with a friend who was in Africa on a 2 week safari in July, I asked about this whole Africa hot thing and she said it's way the hell hotter in Texas than it was in Africa. They needed a jacket in the evenings in Africa-not an issue here in Texas!

Not surprising at all since my friend has never been to Africa. How could he know?

I am about to put a feather in my hair and do a rain dance. It poured one mile from my house and not a drop here. I am ticked with the rain gods.

I guess I need to rain dance, too-I just got home from a two week work trip and my yard is parched-hubby's not one to water the yard!

NS. I made it though. Worked from about 5:45 til noon. The last hour was pretty miserable, but it was just the clean up. Our [STRIKE]landscape[/STRIKE] lawn mower guys "don't do flower beds", so I couldn't take it any more and you're right--those summer weeds are a mofo. I had been watering for days though, so it was a little easier. I am sore as sh!t this morning . Crikey, I hate getting old.
