Coming to the beach Tuesay and hope to do some surf fishing for a few days. How bad are the dog flies and any reports on redfish? Thanks. JohnS.

The dog flies were biting this afternoon (me) - don't know about the redfish!!!

Wind was out of the north, so yes, black flies. If you can figure out a way to make the wind blow in a more favorable way, then have at it!

Dog flies are here. Wear long sleeves and stand in the surf and you will be fine, They are not too bad, honestly.

Not a problem if you are strolling down the beach, but I lasted for less than 5 minutes of beach reading/watching the waves!

Help my dog

Those flies are really making my dog's walks unbearable. Is there anything safe and effective to put on a pup to keep the flies away.

Dog Flies have been miserable, kind of windy for boating.

I heart dog flies. Keeps people from leaving trash on the beach because they can't stand going to the beach.
