Awesome! Thanks for posting this fun Easter weekend event. Added to SoWal Events Calendar.
It's an Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs! Finally! Here's the scoop we received by Dog Harmony recently...
Dog-Harmony will host its 2nd Annual
Block Party & Eggstravaganza at Gulf Place on Saturday, April 2 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. - was planned for Mar. 26 but rescheduled due to weather. Find the block party along Spires Lane and the back green at Gulf Place.
This public event is free to attend and will feature festivities to include dog-friendly vendors, activities for dogs and kids, food, muttmosas (mimosas), a photo booth, chance drawings for great prizes, and an Easter egg hunt for dogs. For only $5 each dogs can participate in the doggie Easter egg hunt for prizes.
Come out for a fun Easter fundrasier for Dog Harmony. An estimated $30,000 is anticipated in vet and medical expenses this year for Dog-Harmony rescues. Funds raised from this event will benefit Dog-Harmony’s medical fund to help cover those costs.
Businesses interested in participating or donating prize items are asked to contact Nancy Bown at
dog-harmony@hotmail.com. Follow Dog-Harmony on Facebook at

NOTE from Dog-Harmony folks:
Dog Harmony is SO egg-cited about our upcoming EGGstravaganza! We need your help to make it extra special, though - if you have any old fleece items that you no longer need, we would love to have them. They will be repurposed and used to make dog toys at the street fair! Donations may be dropped of at Furry Fanatics in Gulf Place, K9-5 Doggie Daycare, or at Army Aviation Federal Credit Union in Santa Rosa Beach. Thank you in advance for your generosity, and we hope to see you at the event on March 26th!
Dog-Harmony is a volunteer-ran non-profit organization. We're a group of passionate and determined problem-solving dog lovers who want to make a difference. Our goal is to build healthy relationships between humans and dogs to improve the lives of both. The basis for these relationships is knowledge and the key is education, for all ages. By providing personalized training, education, and ongoing support we help owners and dogs grow together in adoptions that last a lifetime. Adoption isn't the end result, it's just the beginning.
We advocate selecting an appropriate dog through rescue organizations and animal shelters. Shelters can provide a wide range for selection, however, it's easy to react emotionally and select a dog that's not a match for an owner's lifestyle, family, or home. Sadly, many adopted dogs are returned to shelters and rescues due to the mismatching of dog and owner. We help people avoid this with our matchmaking process. It can be a difficult process of choosing the right dog, we initially remove the emotional emphasis and hand-hold people through from start to finish so it's enjoyable, the way adoption is meant to be experienced for owner and dog.
Ultimately, our goal is to match the right home with the right dog.
