Drinking alcohol on the beach

Apparently Cindy Meadows wants to outlaw any alcohol on South Walton beaches. I think that is ridiculous and want to know what you think. I think our beach patrol law enforcement does their job in controlling what goes on. WHAT MORE CONTROL DO WE NEED? What do the beach restaurant/bar owners think?

I think it is ridiculous. I am a responsible adult and enjoy a beverage or two on the beach. Penalizing most for the actions of a few - especially during certain times of the year like spring break is not the answer. Could cause an uprising!

Maybe just during Lent? That would take care of the spring breakers except the Atlanta kids the first week of April -- they're underaged anyhow.

JK. One tradition we have is enjoying a drink at sunset on the beach. Maybe only allow drinking during dog hours? LOL.

Even our estemed Commissioner Cindy Meadows, errs now and then. This is definitely one of them. We have many parties on the beach held by the owners of our condos. They involve alcohol. They are never rowdy or mean spirited and those holding the event pick up after it. This is a poor idea all the way around.

I heard banning alcohol suggested as a way to control spring break craziness, but it was by the sheriff, not Cindy.

Don't think we need to ban liquor. Actually enforcing underage drinking and glass rules would solve the issue.
