Eastern Lake Open, April 7, 2010

Eastern Lake was closed yesterday. This sunset afternoon/evening it was open. High tide was around 6 p.m. The distance between the lake and gulf was very close last night, even though the lake is somewhat "low". The opening is to the west. Don't know if it opened on its own with the higher surf and high tide or a gentle foot wedge. At least it wasn't with a backhoe and tax dollars.

Beautiful. Family skim boarding. Overwash coming into lake as outfall open. Will be interesting to see what happens with low tide tomorrow morning.

High tide was providing some overwash into the coastal dune lake as the lake had a small outfall opening. Will be interesting to see what happens with low tide. The lake is not that full.

Another beautiful and interesting sunset. I enjoyed watching these skim boarders. Before I left beach, some nice and well behaved Spring Breakers were coming out on the beach.

I took Imy fishing on Eastern Lake around 4pm and the bass jumping like crazy! I didn't know the outfall was open or we would have checked it out. Thanks for the pictures!

You are very welcome. We've got to meet out in the middle of the lake sometime. I have a john boat that I paddle about from time to time. I look like this

Does this mean that you are getting to enjoy yhe boat more? Where are the pics from out on the boat?

We actually fished from the pier! lol That is one negative about a big boat as opposed to a canoe, it takes so long for me to get it launched that I don't always want to bother! ;-) We were planning for today, but the thunderstorms will probably kill that. I am sure we will meet on the lake some day Dunelaker!
