Whoah!

Only a diabolical mind would make me choose.

Very cool that you went to the funeral. I'd like to hear more about that. Although I was a Cream fan before Stevie came along, if I had grown up with Cream it would be a different story. Clapton is probably the better technician bur SRV is just downright nasty and will make you wanna do wrong. I always felt Clapton kind of sold out after the Miller Beer commercial.

I'll be happy to tell you all about the funeral. It was very cool. We used to visit the grave too on the anniversary, but we haven't done that in a while. Mr. DD was a fan--can you tell? I think your assessment is probably right on. I do agree that SRV had that nasty quality. Lord knows I like the bad boys. It could be that EC is my sentimental fave just because he's been around for so effing long. Hmmmmm....I will have to consider this some more.

Over the years Clapton has had a more diverse range of styles. I think Clapton could play Stevie Ray better than Stevie Ray could have played Clapton.

I don't know if i can even compare these two. Their styles are so different. I LOVE SRV though and would've loved to see him Live and in person. I'll have to go with Stevie. (by the way, we almost named Jayden Stevie, after Steve)

Stevie, maybe because he overcame so much and probably had so much more to give.

If you enjoy guitar check out Netflix for "It Might Get Loud", a wonderful documentary featuring Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White of the White Stripes.
