Evel Knievel has made his final
and grandest jump...into the afterlife!
RIP Dude.
Thank you for inspiring me (30+/- years ago)
to jump countless ditches on my bike
using ramps made of scrap lumber and cinder blocks.
Thanks for giving me the courage to ride a sled down an aluminum extention ladder off the house roof.
Thank you for your image being on the lunch box and toy motorcycle that I wish I still had.
Thank for the "Inner Evel Knievel" that later on in life had me pushing my Kawasaki 440 LTD to 110 down one of Eglin's Range Roads, and just inspiring me to own a motorcycle in general.
Thank you for that same "IEK" that snuck out every time I went snow skiing, bungee jumping, rollercoastering, parasailing and eventually skydiving.
Thank you for being one of my first heroes
and a true American Icon.
May your weary broken bones finally get some rest.
