I ride an exercycle (I got the kind with moving arms so I feel like I'm getting a more thorough workout.) I ride it for 30-45 minutes a day - have it in a spare room with a TV so I don't get bored. I'm a real news junkie so I usually ride it when the 10PM news is on and then I'm certain to get at least 30 minutes in! With small kids, I don't think it's practical for me to join a health club (though I will admit to recently signing up for the Discovery Health Channel National Body Challenge just to get the free 2 month pass to Bally's - there's one just about 2 miles from here so I thought I'd test it out and see if I can somehow squeeze it in to my schedule.)
I also try to exercize every day, just to keep myself in a routine, even though I read you should give yourself a break at least one day a week. I'm also inclined to think I would be better off working out earlier in the day, but it's just easier for me after the kids are in bed (hubby works nights, so I rarely have a minute to myself until the kids are sleeping.)

! It's the only way I have ever really toned up, and most of the movements can be adapted to old lady ailments like stiff shoulders and bad backs. I'm sure getting out the shovel and repairing the holes in my backyard will be good exercise too!
