Favorite Road Stops on the Way to the Beach?

Yes, NC BBQ is pulled pork, with a tangy vinegar based hot sauce, with an optional (but recommended) dollop of "Slaw-on". Texas BBQ is beef, with a tomato based sweet sauce.

We stopped one time (usually have our 4 legged babies) at a meat and 3 in Eufaula. It's right around the corner from the Cajun Corner, right off the main street. I'll try and look on our way down this Sat and get the name. It was really good! Great home cooked veggies. Husband loved the fried chicken.

I forget the name but there is a good BBQ place on the South side of the Dothan loop on the west side of 231.

We sometimes drive the Eufaula route (to gawk at those lovely old houses, mostly!) so I appreciate the tip, Mom. BTW, what's this about driving down this Saturday? So are we, for another week of condo destruction, ahem, "beautification." :roll: Cocktails at sunset, perhaps????????

A great place to stop in Eufala is Phil's BBQ. They have the "Best Butts in Alabama" or so that is their slogan and what they put on their t-shirts. We ate there in '03 and they were expanding then. Didn't go that route this year.

This year (last week actually) we stopped at Ranch House BBQ on the way down which is in Luverne, AL. It is great!!

Peach Park is another favorite. It's been a few years since we stopped there, but we have friends that always stop on their way down and they always enjoy it!
