Probably the only item I splurge on and always ask for as a gift, is a beautiful scented candle.

Last Thanksgiving on our trip to the Smokies I found these Crossroads candles and fell in love. Right now I am using the Cranberry Muffin one. They have beautiful Rusted Lid cutout tops and double wicks and burn evenly and right down to the bottom of the jar.

You can get them with or without artwork labels on them. Mine has the State Pride label for TN.

I also love Wood Wick candles by Virginia candles that have a wood wick that sounds and looks like a wood burning fire. Brown sugar is my current favorite.

Do you have a favorite? Do you pick the fragrance seasonally or just pick one?

I like those French Gladay ones. :D Seriously, the Glade scented oil candles work pretty good for us. Don't use them to often though just when the house gets a little musty from being closed up due to heat or cold.

Now this is a great thread! I love candles and the 2 links you provided look great. There are a few I want to order from the Wood Wick company. Some of the fusion ones are beautiful.

As far as my favorite scents I love anything citrus. Then 2nd, would be in the apples & cinnamon realm.

SWGA, the Gladay aren't bad at all - pretty good scent for the $$! We use them in a pinch when we're all out of the other good stuff.

Thanks Minnie, with Christmas right around the corner, this is a good start for gifts.

what scent would you recommend to cover up wet dog and dog fart smell? I would prefer candles to a lobotomy because I can't get rid of my dogs. Although, I did lose my ex because she kept pulling the covers over my head.

I like the battery powered candles from Brookstone - you get a nice subtle smell (vanilla, lavendar, cinnamon, and green apple) and don't have to worry about fire or burn danger or melted wax making a mess.

If you're serious, try this. Sounds crazy, but I swear it works. Mix one part vodka to 3 parts water in a spray bottle. Eliminates odors in the air and musty odors on fabics/furniture. Plus, if you spray enough you'll be in a good mood for the rest of the day. :D

Not a recommended treatment if social services is coming by for a visit. :D
