BJ and I loved having an art gallery that celebrated talented artists from 30/A for almost 9 years. I love all of the above artists and here are a few more:

Eileen West (paintings)
Woodie Long (folk artist--nicest guy on the planet earth)
Drunkenartist Kenny! (painted glass)
Billy "Alsbury" Johnson (enamel on board, aspen furniture)
Sue Foster (photography--heaven needed a photographer)
Leroy Fehr (furniture)
Dorothy Miller aka Grandma Dorothy aka Dorothy-the-Great (painted ceramics)
Silas Breaux (print maker, drawings)

Well, thanks for the great ideas for the weekend!

By the way, I went to the Gaffrey gallery Thursday and Billie's work is still there. She has some really fabulous things.

I am also lusting after a painting of Justin's in the back room It's an odd size, very wide -- of New Orleans, with skeletons dancing. I love that painting so much!

I remember seeing that shortly after Katrina during one of the Art Quest champagne tours. Unfortunately at the time it was not for sale. I know exactly the one you are talking about and we saw it first! ;-)

Thanks for the kind words regarding Gord's and my work (Yes, I WILL be signing the Frogs at George's on Sat Night....so I forgot, kill me)....but if you have not seen one of the Bohemian's work at The House of Art you are truly missing an experience....TB#1 (or 2) is SO VERY VERY talented....they both are....and great bakers also!!!

So, did you sign the frogs yet ????

I like Gordie and Lisa'a stuff...I would like to see the frogs....my daughter loves frogs...and so do I. When she was 3 she would go around and collect them in a bucket...big ones...surprised she didn't get warts.
