Ok, now I want to read it. What's "The Taking" about?

It's a thriller about an unknown entity taking over the world. Pretty scary. My husband often works graveyard shifts and is gone at night a lot, and we live out in the woods, and I admit that I had to make a few panicked dashes to the light switch just to get my bearings on those nights. It's one of those books that has you leaping into bed rather than walking normally, just in case something under there wants to grab your leg.

But my all-time favorite Dean Koontz is Odd Thomas. Couple of loose ends, but what a agreat story! Now I am back to Pride and Prejudice, and Robinson Crusoe, which I can't seem to get into.

'Robinson Crusoe' is a tough read, as far as 'getting into'..so is 'Wuthering Heights', which is what I am trying to read, right now.

Oh, have you ever read Koontz's "Strange Highways"? It's a book of really creepy short stories..it's my favorite book to revisit during Halloween!

I read Wuthering Heights as a teen and I remember it dragging. I'm hoping Crusoe will get better once the "adventures" start. My daughter (8yrs) read the edited-for-children version and loved it, so I am trying with the original. Moby Dick is another one that is slow reading, but the poetry of the book is so fascinating that it's worth it! I'd like to reread it with a highlighter for fantastic quotes.

I've not read Strange Highways. I'll have to check that out. I love your Scared To Death smiley! LOL!
