There is not more. I don't know another way to say it. It goes into that understanding concept which you mention. If we simply disregard another's opinions because we think our's is better, rather than asking questions to understand how they came to their opinions, we may not have the entire balanced big picture of whatever the topic happens to be. I could relate the idea to a person who listens to only the words of Politician X and everyone who endorses that same politician. Without listening to the opponents of Politician X and other candidates, we may be so stuck in our own thoughts that we forget to realize that the change we thought we wanted may not be the change we wanted at all.

Mango, possibly you're right and also "opposition" was possibly a bad choice of words. However, I have found that many times when people gather in the name of "peace", a riot breaks out. Also, I hesitate to use the word Liberal as the word is often misinterpreted to mean all left of center instead of the extreme left. Since this is a call for peace and meditation instead of "protest" maybe the turnout will be such that the above mentioned riot will not
break out.

:yikes:
Trying to visualize a riot breaking out at in Blue Mountain.

... Somehow it just strikes me as  funny. :dunno:

Well, now that 6th Gen has directions to the event, anything is possible. No one ever mentioned that the riots are started by the violent people, rather than the peaceful people. ;-)

A one man riot? By definition is that possible? .... Oh wait! He said he would be drunk! So it could be a drunken-one-man-riot. ------

It could be a laugh riot!

I was just kidding about 6th Gen. He is way too conservative in his views to start a riot, especially at some hippie gathering where people will be holding up peace signs.

Believe it or not, sometimes the "peaceful people" are also violent people.

I don't believe that is possible, since the two have opposite meanings. If one is violent, he cannot be considered as being peaceful. Yes, there are wanna-be hippies, who throw their cigarette butts on the sidewalk, and I am sure that there are wanna-be peace lovers who will not hesitate to open up a can of Freak-Out, but as noted, they are wanna-bees, not genuine.

...but not unlike the death penalty in a country which states that it is wrong to kill, defending one's loved ones or possessions with deadly force is basically doing to them what we don't want done to us. Don't get me wrong. I am a weak man. If someone comes threatening me or my loved ones with deadly force, or threats of such nature, you can rest assured that I am ready and willing to die to fight for my loved ones and my own self, and will not think twice about using deadly force. I am simply noting that not everyone is willing to return "justice" to those who threaten. I believe Jesus would say that if killing is wrong, the reason why someone kills is no excuse for the act. I cannot ride that wave right now, but I imagine that once a person attains that level of being, where he can defend without wanting to inflict harm in retaliation, he is at peace with the world.
