Well, my friend, let's revive this thread!!

My vote..........Love.

IJohn 4:7-12

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

;-)

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves."

Wow, LW, that is really scary. What a most excellent example of choosing fear over love. Thank God for your grandpa. I think your guardian angel was with you too. Did you see about the story today about a 7 year old boy being saved out of Lake Eerie this weekend by a man in a rowboat who just happened to see the boy's Dad's plane go down. It was night and the elderly man rowed out a mile. The little boy grabbed his rowboat in the darkness. More Angels watching... ;-) I'm glad you made it out alive and chose to share your story with us.

Yep .... some Angels are on earth.....and thank you for this sweet post.

   Aaw, sweet. I'm all veklempt. Thank you. I can't imagine being kidnapped though. Scary. I  that movie with Reese Witherspoon and 'Bob' played by Keifer Sutherland. What is the name of that movie ya'll? You may not be able to watch it cuz it's very scary. :dunno:

When I was a kid there used to be a man that would wait in his car at the end of the school path thru the woods in his car on the sidestreet. On more than one occasion he would ask us for directions and would be shaking his arm at the same time. One day my l'il sis got too close and asked what he was shakin' . She was 6. At least she didn't get abducted. She screamed and we all ran screaming. It taught me to teach my kids never to approach any vehicle even if they seem like they are lost and looking for someone and ask for your help. These predators are very clever getting at kids. :sosad: I think she thought he was petting his dog or something? :dunno: That you feel sympathy for the person that did that to you is even more evidence of living the truth and God's grace. You're so brave. I so agree when you said forgiving is a gift to ourselves.

I think talking to children about strangers is a good idea. I hope someone reading this can pass on a healthy way to be aware. You never know how you just might help someone.

You know, speaking of children, they are fearless. I remember as a child, I was never afraid of anything until it proved harmful or my parents said to beware of something. Kids are so impressionable and it is our duty as parents and (in my case) respected adult influences, to teach them what should be avoided and warn them of evil things. Good call!:D

From ~A Course In Miracles~
Workbook for Students

Forgiveness is the Key to Happiness.

Here (forgiveness) is the answer to your search for peace. Here(forgiveness) is the key to the meaning in a world that seems to make no sense. Here (forgiveness) is the way to safety in apparent dangers that appear to threaten you at every turn, and bring uncertainty to all your hopes of ever finding quietness and peace. Here (forgiveness)....all your questions are answered; here ( through forgiveness) the end of all uncertainty is ensured at last.
