Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you...
while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

You may wonder, 'How can I leave it all behind if I am just coming back to it?
How can I make a new beginning if I simply return to the old?' The answer lies in the return.
You will not come back to the 'same old thing.'
What you return to has changed because you have changed.
Your perceptions will be altered. You will not incorporate into the same body, status, or world you left behind.
The river has been flowing while you were gone. Now it does not look like the same river.

Morihei Ueshiba - The Art of Peace, Aikido

The Way of the Warrior has been misunderstood as a means to kill and destroy others. Those who seek competition are making a grave mistake. To smash, injure, or destroy is the worst sin a human being can commit. The real Way of a Warrior is to prevent slaughter - it is the Art of Peace, the power of love.

~ Morihei Ueshiba

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

Ohhhhhh LW I love your posts!

I'm so excited to say my daughter is writing an essay on The Lord of the Flies....which gives her such an opportunity to learn how the strong belief in fear can quickly change individuals, but worse when that fear is embraced by a small group it brings about chaos, savagery, destruction.

How familar that the power of one can engulf so many to believe that fear is real....and then to cause so much pain through this power.

Kalie and I have had great discussions about fear.:clap::clap:

I am so glad that you can communicate like that. I look at fear so differently than I did when I was younger.

When I look at how much time my Mom worried about things that never happened, it makes me really want to try to break that pattern.

I hope our children learn that from us.

A Return to Love

Love is what we are born with.

Fear is what we learn.

The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts.

Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth.

To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life.

Meaning does not lie in things.

Meaning lies in us.
