Once you look at the photos I posted you should be able to look at your own hear an angelic "aaaaaaah" and a glow form around them. ;-)

I think if you take care of your toenails and they look nice without polish, then NO they do not need to be painted, unless you choose to do so. I finally figured out that long term use of nail polish makes your nails yellow - I prefer to go without. and I do go without on my fingernails ALL the time now - who has time for friggin polish?

but toenails need a little something to make them look nice. if you can keep them clean, filed nicely and buffed, then no polish is needed. its really much healthier!

otherwise, I do like a good American French polish job. (white tips are more natural looking, and not so glaringly white).
I was thinking about you, Tootsie, this morning when I was doing my nails. I have followed your advice, stopped getting acrylic nails, and now I just buff my nails. Not only do I save a lot of money and time (due to not having to drive to a salon), but I don't have to live my life saying, "Can you help me? I don't want to break a nail." My family got so tired of hearing that. Also, I wonder how healthy it is to breathe in the acrylic dust when going in for a fill-in? :dunno:

Anyhow thanks a lot for the tip!

I have never had acrylic nails but have plenty of friends who do or did at one point. most finally give 'em up, and then are relieved not to have to maintain them. heck, you can still go enjoy a nice manicure to help keep your nails healthy and looking good. I remember several years ago the acrylic nail smell in a nail or beauty salon would be so strong it would make me feel sick. I would never go to one for a haircut, but had to go for a pedicure etc. these days its not so bad - seems like they don't do acrylics as much these days. Some do not do them at all.

speaking of toenails - apparently mine need whacking because they are hurting in my boots and closed toe shoes these days. time to get to work on those winter toes.
