I'm not so sure, server side companies like Google have a long history of failing miserably on the client side.

like Google ... ?

only if Google dumps a crap load of money into r&d, will I be using Chrome as my primary browser. I have it and try it on occasion, but FF is superior. I've been beta testing FF 3.1 beta 2, and it seems to work well. Not sure if FF 3.5 is final version of the beta 2. I'll check it out. thanks. i love me some FF

Google goes to R&D's home and slaps his momma.

Y'all I tried FF a couple of months ago and suddenly my system froze - could have been a coincidence?? I had to completely remove it and go back to MSN browser.

Had thought about Google Chrome, but I use their system and it's got some bugs......

MSN is not a browser to my knowledge. Maybe you mean Internet Explorer? FF shouldn't cause a sudden system freeze. That sounds more like a lack of RAM.

Google probably drools over the open source of FF. Google has many cool things and continue to improve and simplify computer technology. I hope they get a browser as worthy as FF one day, and surpass it. I'm a big fan of most google stuff, but Chrome has a little rust covering the shine.

All I know is that Merman curses a whole lot less when he's on the computer now that he uses FF rather than Explorer. :D

I did download the new FF3.5 today, and found no different feel in the speed, however, I didn't run speed tests before and after.

Google drools all right, they fund Firefox's development through search referrals. They'd love to kill off Fx and replace it with Crome, it'd save them 50 million a year and help solidify their ownership of the 'gateway' to the web.

I'm sure that's what I meant. Thanks for your help!! Maybe I'll try it again.

I have FF 3.5 running under Ubuntu linux on my Playstation 3 and it works great! I use the PS3 as a multimedia pc in my bedroom hooked up to a 46 Sony Bravia HDTV. Its nice because I can browse the net and watch bluray movies all from one system (not to mention play games). I haven't noticed any speed increases either, though it seems more stable running on a low memory platform. :)
