I found this while researching Santa Rosa Ridge real estate. Property owners in that tract should be interested:

---------------------------
NOTICE OF COMMUNITY MEETING

You are hereby notified that there will be a community public involvement program meeting for a proposed development for property known as "Fox Lake Development". This meeting is scheduled for October 30, 2014 and will begin at 5:30 PM at the offices of Emerald Coast Associates, Inc., 179 County Hwy 393 South, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

The purpose of this meeting is to solicit and consider input from adjacent/neighboring property owners regarding the proposed development project. The project will consist of single and multifamily homes with a total acreage of approximately 30 acres located in Santa Rosa Ridge. The site is located south of Fairway Drive and northeast of the Santa Rosa Beach Golf Course. [This would place it to the west of the Cemetery on 393.]

Interesting that the meeting is being held at an engineers office. So I'm guessing that's not an official public meeting?

I've talked to a realtor in the area, and apparently the meeting will be in the office of the development planner (surveying company working for the developer).

I also understand the lot size for a detached structure is about 40' wide by 70'deep..... quite a difference from the 1/4 to 1/2 acre lots in the existing community. (If I did my math right, a 40'x70' lot = 0.06 acres).

The developers plan also apparently calls for about 25 "multifamily" structures.

I wish I could be there, as a fly on the wall, or something........

The developer is trying to use a property made up of 2 access easements on Fairway Drive (just west of Joan Circle) to funnel the traffic for their massively overbuilt development through the Santa Rosa Ridge neighborhood. The poor compatibility of this plan was noted by Mello Yolo - .06 acres and multifamily versus 1/2 to 1/4 single family lots.

Traffic impact..... sounds like a solid justification to build a roadway "cloverleaf" for traffic flow onto 393 from Ridge Road, and for making 393 a median-divided highway, like 98..... (no RSVPs please, just kidding!!)

I can't even imagine lots of .06 acres. I've played on the Waltonpa.com website this afternoon, and I can't find any single-family residential lots that small, in any part of South Walton.... (but I'm still searching the PA database, just out of curiosity).

Did the referenced meeting take place?

Anyone attend? I'd be interested in a recap of what might have taken place.

From what I understand it did and was very well attended. Haven't heard the outcome.

The meeting was a joke because it was held in an active parking lot next to a busy road. It was impossible for attendees to hear anything said, so it does not count. A new meeting will be scheduled at an indoor location. No word yet on time and place.
