The latest issue dated 3/17 (Jobs on cover) has an article about our real estate market. The only reason I know this is because I received a call today from a salesman in Tampa asking me if I'd like to order the article framed as a wall piece.

He tried to sell it to me because I was interviewed by senior editor Jon Birger (same guy who picked Joe for 2008 top 10 stocks) about a month ago.

I have yet to see the article. I stopped by B&N today but they didn't have the issue yet.

The salesman told me the article was titled, "Beach-House Bargains" but I see online that they have the headline as,
"Right on your money-
These days you might just be able to afford that condo by the sea." by Jon Birger

but they have yet to link the headline to the article:

<holding my breath>
When I did the interview I felt he was trying to put a positive spin on our current market situation as a buying opp.

So according to Fortune Magazine it's not a great time to buy in Florida. :dunno:

.

Not exactly:

"One market where both Ross and Keith see buying opportunities galore is Floriday. The best Florida bargains are in condominiums."

Then the quote from the, ahem, Destin realtor about the 25-30% price drop since 2005.

<paraphrase>
Before hopping on a plane to bargain hunt, consider the risks that the FL market may have further to fall while property taxes and insurance soar.

I'd love to hear more of the definition on this one.
