What's a hollyhock?

I'm in my 60's now but when I was a little girl when we would visit my great aunt in Iowa I would make hollyhock dolls from the beautiful hollyhocks growing in her yard. You don't see them often in the south. They may be more of a Midwestern thing- like rhubarb and mulberry trees.

I also made the hollyhock dresses as a child growing up. We would make whole wedding parties. I also love rhubarb, Publix sells it sometimes...

You can make the same dolls out of Camilla flowers. Eden state park is a great place to find enough to make a wedding party.
