Haha! The real fireplace in my living room is, too! I don't have central heat in this joint... Double brrrrrr!

Me and the dogs are all snuggled up on the couch with my electric blanket.

::sigh::

Sounds like me Kitt quite a few years back. Had just gotten divorced, no furniture and money was tight so me and the pups all bundled up and slept in front of the fire place every night that winter. Good times. Why does it seem that what should be memories of our toughest times often turn out to be our best.:D

Ah, yeah. Agreed. But honestly, I joke about the cold--I do have a fireplace, but it DOES get chilly--but this is such a terrific old house, especially this time of year. Lots of wonderful old childhood memories from growing up and doing the Christmas holidays with the grandparents!

My grandmother used seashells (she's got millions of them that she's collected over the years) in all her decorating, even as Christmas tree ornaments, and it was just magical here as a kid.

I think I'm very fortunate to spend some time here as an adult, too--it's done my heart good!
